小学校の卒業式では「仰げば尊し」は歌わなかった。
高校も歌わなかったと思う。
でも中学の卒業式では歌ったように思う。
三鷹一中の体育館でだった。
三鷹一中の体育館は第一パンの工場のあった道路側にあった。
確かＮＨＫののど自慢もそこでやった。
私達の学年は５００人近くいたと思う。Ｊ組まであったから。
「仰げば尊し」ときくとその体育館を思い出すので、その時は歌ったのだと思う。
「仰げば尊し」というタイトルもその時歌った歌の内容もどうでもよいのだけど、
スーザン・オズボーンがこのメロディー（元々アメリカの歌）に英語歌詞をつけて
歌っている。
その歌詞がすばらしい。
スーザン・オズボーンという人は他にも日本の歌に英語詩をつけて歌っているが、
日本という狭い国を歌うことはなく、地球の歌にして歌っている。
この歌は泣けるほど美しいと思う。
